  • Still and Box, 7037 Parnell, Chicago<br /> This is a good demonstration of the fire and subsequent heat inside and why a building has to be vented that is, opened in various places to allow heat to escape.
  • The fire spreads<br /> Standing in front of a structure and moving clockwise, sides are identified as sectors, 1, 2, 3, 4. This facilitates radio communication.<br /> Here, at a Still and Box, 6620 S. Aberdeen on 12/17/05, the fire is leaping out the window in sector 2 to the one next-door, identifed as the exposure building.

  • Clogged hydrant<br /> Aside from frozen hydrants, there are other reasons for their dysfunction. For example, when somone opens a hydrant cap and throws something in: boots tree branches, clothes...
