These sounds are not heard by the human ear, but they can be picked up by electronic listening devices. CFD Squad 5 fireman Tom Geaswick (r) and others collapse stedents atop "the pile", apparent;ly a pile of junk but is actually an elaborate system of tunnels used for training firemen.

Life rescue dummy placed inside what looks like a huge pile of debris of all kinds but is actually an ingenious system of tunnels which are crammed full of all kinds of material that are found in a collapsed structure. The students are required to make the support shoring, crawl in, secure it on the side and on the top of the tunnel before puling out a dummy life-like in size and weight.

The beginning of a series of concrete culverts with various wood obstacles placed between and in them in which training firemen crawl with a variety of tools in order to rescue strategically place dummies of considerable weight.
